Missing YOU at Christmas…

Nothing’s the same at Christmas since you’ve been gone.

My heart is broken each year as I try and stay strong.

Buying you presents each year, I so wish I could.

And joyfully give them to you by the firewood.

We loved decorating the tree together while listening to Christmas songs.

Decorating home baked sugar cookies around our table right where we belonged.

I look at our family Christmas picture in the frame.

No more updated ones because Jesus called your name.

I grieve each year we are apart.

Thankful your deep love is forever in my heart.

My greatest gift is knowing where you are.

With the Son of God, your spirit is never far.

So many tears still fill my eyes.

Flooding memories of you are no surprise.

As I try and kiss the spirit of Christmas each year,

You are the kissing the Prince of Peace with the greatest cheer.
