We take pictures of almost everything we do in life because it’s fun and also documents our precious time together. Pictures put the moment of a memory right into our heart, and sometimes we need reminders of those beautiful moments in time. Pictures tell the stories of our lives in ways that words many times cannot.
One thing pictures show is the gift of love between us; and also enables great conversations of our past memories. Love is our universal gift language we share with our loved ones. Unfortunately, love comes with loss. It’s a package deal. But the extraordinary and special gift of love is worth every moment and every memory. Pictures become our memories. They are what we preserve and display to look back upon in celebrating our love for each other through all the fun and enjoyable times we had in life.
Sometimes, though, reflecting back upon pictures can make us subdued because we don’t have that special someone who was a huge presence in our life anymore to continue making beautiful and fun memories with. But looking through photos of lost loved ones, once our heart is ready and able to look at them again, can be the best healing therapy and health for our heart and soul. They help us remember everything about them that made them amazingly special; the unique way they lived their life; their personalities and passions in life; their hobbies that brought them smiles; how they deeply impacted our lives; and why they were so impressively important to us. It’s the photo story memories of celebrating their life of love that are an important part of their legacy living on in us and through us…and always remembering the fun and beautiful times together.
Pictures are powerful tools in helping us through many emotional phases in life. Pictures help me celebrate the amazingly special gift of my Joshua’s life as I’m forced to live life without him. And every moment I have with all my family I’m still so blessed with, swells my heart with gratitude, and helps keep me taking pictures.
God gives and He takes away.
He blesses those who mourn, and comforts them.
Matthew 5:4
We’re in this life together, so let’s encourage each other to cross the finish line strong.
